First Church's Updates

Weekly Update for First Church of the Brethren, January 5, 2026

Ephesians 4:1b

I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”

Is there anything sadder and more frustrating than an ungrateful child?

When Paul wrote his letter to the church at Ephesus, he was urging followers of Christ to be at the forefront of implementing God’s vision of how he desired His people to behave.   In the big picture, he was laying out God’s vision for His world.

Out of gratitude for what He has done for us, or quite simply because He is God and we are not, we owe some measure of obligation to live His way.  We owe some obligation to try to make our world a return to Paradise He wants for His people.
