First Church's Updates

Weekly Update for First Church of the October 18, 2024

Mark 10:35

Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him. “Teacher,” they said, “we want you to do for us whatever we ask.”

Wow!   Can you imagine asking   or more precisely, demanding, this of   Jesus?

But sometimes doesn’t the human side of us lead us to pray this way?     And honestly, it might be kind of ok to ask if we intend to do our part, His way, for His glory.

But for the most part, trust that God’s plans for us “are to bring us to a good outcome” as is promised in Jeremiah.

Please include in your prayers: Family of Kenny Day, Gary & Connie Fluke, Gracelyn Carrier, Bill & Carolyn Grubb, Ramon Burket, Dan & Carol Emerick, Joan Johnson, Fred Beers, Barbara Roush, Tom & Janis Thompson, Tommy Smith, Jim Hoover, Brenda Fluke-Garber, Barry Griffith, Eric Thompson, Dorothy Holsinger, Joyce Mock, Audrey Smith, Sharlene Wood, Tana Byler, John Coates, Chuck Kuntz, first responders, Camp Blue Diamond, those affected by natural disasters, our church family.
