Join Us in Worship

We are so glad you found us! We invite everyone to get to know us as a church community. Please join us at the First Church of the Brethren in Roaring Spring, PA in worship on Sundays at 9:25 am. We are a community of welcome and worship where our people can find peace, purpose, and power through Jesus Christ! Please bring your friends and family. We are a fun-loving group of people of all ages and walks of life who love getting together to worship God. New to the area? Never been to our church before? You will be warmly greeted. We cannot wait to meet you! Please join us throughout the week for any of the activities we offer to our congregation!

Sunday Worship 9:25 am
Sunday School for all ages follows worship at 10:30 am.

Fellowship Time is held following worship the second Sunday of the month except in June, July, and August.
Children’s Church is offered for children Kindergarten through 5^th grade during church service.
Adult Choir is open to all singers. No audition necessary! They are not active during the summer months of June, July and August.

A Nursery is available for children 8 weeks to 3 years of age during worship.
Activity Bags appropriate for children 3 years through 2nd grade are available from any Usher.

First Church's Updates

Weekly Update for First Church of the July 26, 2024

John 6:12-13

12 When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.” 13 So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.

When we bring our offerings…… our talents, our gifts, our time, our service…. To God he can take it and make it more than enough!

Vacation Bible School – Kick off during Children’s Church on Sunday. 6:00 – 8:30 pm July 29 – August 1 at Shawnee. If you signed up to bring something, please have it at the church no later than Sunday. Please keep the volunteers and children in your prayers next week.

All helpers for VBS are asked to meet in the Genesis Classroom for a short meeting following worship Sunday morning.

VBS Offering –Items donated will be given to the Borough and the Fire Department to help clean up the messes around town. Monetary donations and large sponges, car wash soap, microfiber towels, five gallon buckets, interior cleaning supplies, wash mitts, window cleaner, tire cleaner, hand soap, Gojo, laundry detergent, bottled water and Gatorade. You may bring them to church this Sunday or send them to VBS.

The annual Brethren Open Golf Tournament will be held on Tuesday, August 13 at Iron Masters in Roaring Spring. This is one of the biggest fundraisers for Camp Blue Diamond and Middle PA District. Proceeds are shared from this event and are used to support ministry training, youth events and summer camp. Your donation of $90 includes a round of golf, cart, snacks, free gifts, dinner and chance to win lots of prizes. Registration forms are available from the websites of Camp Blue Diamond and Middle PA District.

Donations for the Food Bank and the Blessing Box are always welcome. Thank you for continuing to support these ministries. We are very low on items for the blessing box. Items we like to use include: shampoo, bars of soap, shower gel, deodorant, tissues, toilet paper, tooth brushes, toothpaste, face cleanser, lotion, cleaning supplies, dish soap.
