First Church's Updates

Weekly Update for First Church of the Brethren, May 18, 2026

I Corinthains 12:4

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.”

If it is true that dynamite comes in small packages, then this short scriptural thought is truly enough to blow some minds!  Firstly, it is an acknowledgement at Pentecost of the presence of the Holy Spirit.  Secondly, it announces the gifts the Spirit bestows on us.   And finally, it verifies that we each have something different, but still very important, to offer to Jesus Christ!

– Pastor Dave
