Join Us in Worship

We are so glad you found us! We invite everyone to get to know us as a church community. Please join us at the First Church of the Brethren in Roaring Spring, PA in worship on Sundays at 9:25 am. We are a community of welcome and worship where our people can find peace, purpose, and power through Jesus Christ! Please bring your friends and family. We are a fun-loving group of people of all ages and walks of life who love getting together to worship God. New to the area? Never been to our church before? You will be warmly greeted. We cannot wait to meet you! Please join us throughout the week for any of the activities we offer to our congregation!

Sunday Worship 9:25 am
Sunday School for all ages follows worship at 10:30 am.

Fellowship Time is held following worship the second Sunday of the month except in June, July, and August.
Children’s Church is offered for children Kindergarten through 5^th grade during church service.
Adult Choir is open to all singers. No audition necessary! They are not active during the summer months of June, July and August.

A Nursery is available for children 8 weeks to 3 years of age during worship.
Activity Bags appropriate for children 3 years through 2nd grade are available from any Usher.

Weekly Update for First Church of the Brethren, December 6, 2024

John 10:14-15 (New International Version)

“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.

M.U.M.s (Mothers Uplifting Mothers) Group will be having a Wreath Workshop at Roots in the Cove on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 6:00pm. Mothers of all generations are welcome to join us and can create a beautiful wreath or a potted pine box while we fellowship together. The event will be $45. Light refreshments will also be available. A sign-up sheet is available at the welcome center. Please see Amy Nooyen for more information or if you need childcare.

Shepherds are reminded to pick up Christmas bag or bags to deliver to your undershepherd on December 11th after 7 pm or December 13th between 7 am and 5 pm. If you’re unable to make one of these time please let a deacon know to make other arrangements. Thank you!

Those who will be attending the JOY Christmas Party are encouraged to sign up so we know how many to plan for.

Please make sure the office has your correct information because work on the 2025 Directory will begin in January. Thanks to the people who have noted corrections and additional information on the Attendance Register.

Poinsettia order forms may be found in your December newsletter and also at the Welcome Center and are due with payment on Sunday morning.

Christmas Eve Candlelight Service begins at 7 pm.

The 2025 Flower and Bulletin chart is now posted on the wall beside the church mailboxes.

A reminder to check you mailboxes regularly. The youth will deliver your Christmas cards to regular attenders through December 15^th. Be sure to have your return address on the card so they can be returned to you if you happen to include a card that cannot be delivered.

We are collecting food and hygiene items for local food banks this month. Kindly place your contribution under the tree in the Overflow Room through the end of the month.
